Ferry Building & Bay Bridge
이곳에서 Sausalito, Oakland, Tiburon에 가는 배를 탈 수 있다. Bay Bridge 가 보이는 광장에 나가면 간디 동상이 있고...
At the district's northeatern corner lies the Ferry Building, built in 1903. In the early 1930s, over 50 million passengers a year passed through here, to and from the transcontinental railroad in Oakland or homes across the bay. Its clock tower was inspired by the Moorish bell tower of Seville Cathedral in Spain. With the opening of the Bay Bridge in 1936, it began to deteriorate. On the building's east side stands the Gandhi Monument (1988). Designed by k. B. Patel and sculpted by z. Pounov and S. Lowe, it bears an inscription of Gandhi's words.
