프랑스해군의 강습상륙함 BPC Mistral (L9013)함이 11월 23일 러시아 St. Petersburg항을 방문하였습니다. 이 방문은 상당한 의미가 있는데 러시아가 21세기 해군력 강화를 위해 Mistral급 헬기탑재 상륙함을 400-500백만유로 (대략 $600-$750 백만달로)에 프랑스로부터 도입을 검토중이라는 보도가 나왔기때문입니다. 이를 위한 준비단계로 함에 대한 검토를 위해 러시아 방문을 요청하였고 이번에 방문하게 되었다고 하니 앞으로 전개과정이 기대됩니다.이미 지난 6월말 IMDS 2009 방산전시회에서 이에 대한 논의가 시작되었습니다. 러시아해군은 네덜란드의 HNLMS Johan de Witt급 LPD에 대해서도 조사를 하였다고 합니다.
