French Shell-Shocked By Park Late Show

Ji-sung Park stunned France with an equalising goal for South Korea nine minutes from the time to earn them a 1-1 draw in Leipzig on Sunday evening.

The French had dominated proceedings and had numerous chances to put the result beyond the Koreans after taking the lead through Thierry Henry just nine minutes in.

But they wasted their opportunities and were made to pay by the United winger whose mis-hit shot looped over the helpless Fabien Barthez following some sloppy defending from the French.

Cue wild celebrations from the thousands of raucous, red-clad Koreans gathered inside the stadium.

The result leaves Korea top of Group E with four points following their opening victory over Togo. France are second with two points, having drawn their first match with Switzerland.

United pair Louis Saha and Mikael Silvestre were both unused substitutes during the game.
