More disinformation claims of attack on the Zaytun Budae:
The report said the alleged attack took place around 2:00 p.m. local time, without elaborating further.
But South Korea's Defense Ministry immediately denied the claims by the Web site, saying all South Korean troops are accounted for.
"We received a report from our unit in Iraq that they conducted a head count and there was nothing wrong," a ministry official told Yonhap News Agency on the condition of anonymity.
However, Choi Jin-young, a Arabic professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, said he believed the claims may be accurate, noting that the site mainly covers real-time news.
If confirmed, it would mark the first casualties of South Korean troops stationed in Irbil, about 350 kilometers north of Baghdad.
This is begining to play out like the little boy who cried wolf: Islamic web sites or terrorist groups say they've done harm to the Korean contengent in Iraq, and Seoul denies the charges and confirms everyone accounted for and safe. I agree with my comrade in arms, GI Korea, talking about the last claim about a Korean killed in Kuwait:
The Korean media is just as bad to jump on reports meant solely for propaganda purposes such as two weeks ago when a Korean soldier was alledgedly killed in Kuwait in a firefight with the terrorists which was later proven to be untrue. The media shouldn't report this stuff until it is proven to be true. Who's side are they on?
