UPDATE: Of course Frank was all over this story earlier.
Yonhap says 3 men stole a K-1 rifle, a K-2 rifle, two 15-cartridge magazines and a walkie-talkie from the ROK Army guarding the East Coast Wednesday Night:
The three in their late 20s, dressed in civilian clothes, fled the scene shortly after the incident which took place in the eastern coastal city of Donghae, Gangwon Province, around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, said officials at the Defense Ministry.
The men with short hair, who approached the two soldiers patrolling the area and asked for directions to a road, stabbed the two -- one first lieutenant and one corporal -- with an unidentified weapon and stole a K-1 rifle, a K-2 rifle, two 15-cartridge magazines and a walkie-talkie, the officials said.
The three suspects, who were 168-170 centimeters tall, wore tight T-shirts and black pants, the officials said.
The men tied the hands of the two soldiers with tape and put them in the trunk of a car which the suspects drove to the gate of a navy base 3 km away. The suspects then released the soldiers and fled toward the nearby city of Gangneung, the officials said.
The military in the area is on high alert, known as "Jindokgae hana." One would wonder just what would happen if the NKPA attacked fully loaded. These three had a bladed weapon....
