Scooby Doo and a cast of other US Cartoon Characters will be speaking Korean when the Cartoon Network sets up shop in Korea:
July 13, 2006 ㅡ Cartoon Network Korea, a new 24-hour animation cable channel from a Time Warner company, will open in Korea by the end of this year.
When it does, children will be seeing the dubbed versions of Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry and Scooby-Doo, whereas in the past, they were televised with Korean subtitles.
"Cartoon Network Korea will be offering a variety of multi-genre animation titles from its world-renowned library," said Kim Mun-yeon, president of JoongAng Broadcasting Corporation, the local partner of Turner Broadcasting Systems.
