【Washington＝岡田章裕】「無責任의 極이며, 부끄러워해야 할 일이다」。Obama美大統領은 29日, 公的資金을 注入받은 金融機關의 經營者들이 巨額의 Bonus를 受取한 것을 嚴하게 批判했다.

Geithner 財務長官등과 經濟問題에의 對應을 協議한 後, 記者團에게 말했다.

美紙 New York Times는 29日, 金融機關의 Top들이 08年에 受取한 Bonus는, 合計約184億dollar(約1ㆍ6兆円)으로 推計되고, 過去6番째의 高水準이었다고 報道했다.

Obama大統領은 이것을 받고, 「金融機關은 崩壞의 벼랑끝이며, 納稅者에게 도움을 要求했다. 自制心, 規律, 責任感을 要求하고 싶다」고 말했다.

또한, 「金融機關이 高收益을 올리기 위해서는 時間이 걸린다. 經營者들이 Bonus를 受取하는 것에도 時間이 必要하다」고 말하고, 今後, 經營者들의 報酬制限을 行할 뜻을 表示했다.

Final Count On Wall Street Bonuses -- You Won't Believe it

For all the talk about grim times on Wall Street...for all the bailing out the nation has done of the banks...for all the lost revenue of shareholders...for all the implosion of risky investments these banks made...Wall Street still gave out $18.4 billion in bonuses this past year. 

 The tally was done by the New York State comptroller who says the 2008 bonuses rank as the 6th largest in Wall Street history.  There is no question that the bonus pot is smaller than recent years when everything was soaring.  Bonuses fell 44 percent from 2007.  But was a big piece of the recent boom times enjoyed by these banks a mirage?  Wouldn't their bottom lines have been propped up by the dubious investments now coming home to roost?

As for the $700 billion question:  Was taxpayer bail out money used by the banks to pay out bonuses?  We don't know.  But, James Reda, an executive compensation expert, told ABC's David Muir if the banks received infusions of taxpayer dollars then - in effect - they did use the money to pay out bonuses: "It's impossible, how could you say that one　　 dollar is meant for this and one　　 dollar is meant for that, it's just a dollar, it's impossible."
