The Korean Association of Cancer Prevention has published “54 Foods for Koreans to Overcome Cancer,” introducing 54 popular Korean foods that have outstanding anti-cancer effects.

A recent study on the relationship between eating habits and cancer has offered some clues on the foods that help overcome, or at least prevent, cancer. The Korean Association of Cancer Prevention’s “54 Foods for Koreans to Overcome Cancer” is based on the results of this study. Experts in every sector of society were mobilized to choose 54 popular Korean foods that have turned out to be effective in overcoming or preventing cancer. Some other studies have shown that bad eating habits are even worse for causing cancer than smoking.

It is said that domestic farm products are the best for Koreans. Some of the 54 foods are universal, and others are good especially for Koreans. The “hallyu” or Korean wave, which started with Korea’s popular music and TV dramas, is now spreading even to Korean food. As traditional Korean foods, such as kimchi (pickled cabbage) and doenjang (soybean paste), are made in harmony with nature, they’re good for everybody.
