Heyri is the community of culture, art and nature on the Unification Hill of Paju City. The name of 'Heyri' comes from a traditional farm song of "Heyri Sori" in the Paju region. About 370 artists and cultural business persons have their residence in the village(at the future). Since its foundation, Heyri has become the place for culture, art, creation, exhibitions, events, festivals and for discussions. Heyri will continue to promote art, beautiful environment and healthy ecosystem as well as active exchanges for the art in future. The Heyri Organizing Committee was formed in 1997 by painters, architects, performing artists, publishers, movie makers, broadcasters and leaders in the sector of popular culture. As of 2006, Heyri has more than 80 buildings including movie studio, music gallery, art gallery and artists' studio and it will have more than 300 cultural facility by 2007.
