한복 traditional korean dress/clothing 'Han bok'



한복이란 간단히 말해서 한국 고유의 옷을 뜻합니다.

'Han bok' simply means traditional Korean dress.

한복은 쭉 뻗은 직선과 부드러운 곡선이 조화를 이룬 우리 나라의 전통 의상입니다.

'han bok'is our traditional dress which has straight lines with soft curve that matches.

여성은 짧은 저고리와 넉넉한 치마로 우아한 멋을 풍겼으며, 남성은 바지 저고리를 기본으로 조끼와 마고자로 멋을 냈습니다.

for women, short top 'jeo go ri' and generous skirt which look elegant as a whole and for male, pants and 'jeo go ri' were worn as a basic and they used to stylish themselves with vest and korean-style jacket.

백의민족답게 기본색은 흰색이었으며 계절에따라, 신분에 따라 입는 예법이나 소재, 색상이 모두 달랐습니다.

as we are citizens of white, our basic colour was white and depending on the season and social position the way we wore and the colour of 'Han bok' deferred

결혼과 같은 특별한 예식에는 평민들도 귀족이 입는 화려한 빛깔의 옷과 장신구로 한껏 멋을 냈습니다.

on special occasions like wedding, even the lower-classed people wore colourful dress and accessorized with ornaments.

최근 국내에는 한복의 장점에 실용성을 가미한 개량 한복이 자리잡아가고 있습니다.

recently 'gye ryang han bok' is taking place in korea as they are specially made to have all the positives of han bok.



강강술래 kang kand sool rye



임진왜란때 약세에 놓인 우리군사를 강하게 꾸며 왜적의 눈을 속이기 위하여 충무공은 마을 부녀자들에게 군복을 입혀 위장시킨 다음, 해변,언덕 또는 산봉우리에 모닥불을 피워놓고 그 주위를 맴돌면서 노래를 부르며 춤을 추게 했다고 한다.

korean soldiers were losing in japanese invasion of korean in 1592. we dressed the local womens in military uniform and made a bonfire and sang and danced, to fool the enenmy.

이와같이 강강술래는 당시 충무공의 의병술에서 연유되었고, 그후 공의 승전을 기리기 위하여 매년 추석놀이로 계속되어 왔다고 한다.

thus 'kang kang sool rye' was used as choong moo gong's trick to trick the enemy. Since then, we do it annually on Chuseok to celebrate our victory at war.
